Goals and Aspirations
My dream is to represent New Zealand in cycling at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games on the Road. I also hope to complete my degree in Physical Education at Otago University and use this to complement my cycling career racing for a Professional Pro-Tour team and one day race in the Tour de France.
I believe it is important to have a balanced lifestyle, which is why I have maintained university study and cycling at the same time. I believe the skills honed during the years of handling the challenges of both will be valuable and useful for whatever I chose to do in the future. I am fully committed to my goals and am prepared to take the highs with the lows as I journey along the way to where I want to be.
Supporters
My parents are my biggest supporters. They are very helpful in getting me to races all over the country and always enjoy to watch me race. They help me to get ready both physically and mentally for all races. I would not be the cyclist I am without their help and contribution.
I have been a member of the Central Otago – Wakatipu Cycle Club for my whole career, they have a very supportive and friendly atmosphere of racing with tough and challenging races throughout the New Zealand summer. Racing with this club has definitely influenced the type of rider I am today and I am very thankful for all their support.
I would like to also thank all the members of my 100club that was initaited in 2010, the support so far has been great and a huge help. I hope to be able to develop this club further in the future to increase the benefits to all members.
I am a very dedicated and committed cyclist. I am looking forward to a future in cycling at whatever level. Every time I race I get that little bit more hooked and determined. I believe it is these characteristics that will take me to the top of the cycling world.
Yours in Cycling,
James Williamson
